Vitaly confirmed as one of EFA 2.0-compliant products with valid proof of conformity

May 2017

Elektronische Fallakte (EFA) is German for Electronic Case Files and is the name of stationary healthcare institutions initiative of hospitals and clinics founded in year 2006. First activities in the field of electronic case studies began as early as 2006, when several private clinic chains and the German hospital society (DKG) founded a corresponding project initiative to improve the communication between inpatient and outpatient areas. In 2009 this initiative was governed by the Verein Elektronische FallAkte e.V. (Fraunhofer Institute for Software and Systems Engineering (ISST)) and the Fraunhofer Institute for Open Communication Systems (Fokus) for the development and dissemination.

In 2007, the version 1.0 of the EFA specification was finalized and initially only implemented as part of a proof of concept. In February 2008, the EFA version 1.2 released the first public major release of the EFA specification by the institutions of the EFA initiative. The first implementations were already implemented at the end of 2008 as part of pilot projects. With the publication of the EFA 2.0 specification in the autumn of 2013, it was achieved that the electronic case analysis takes account of recognized IHE profiles and uses the standards laid down therein.

At this year's IHE European Connectathon, held in Venice, EFA has organized Projectathon with focus on EFA 2.0. In prestige company of handful of global IHE interoperability champions, PARSEK has successfully tested integration and got certified for latest spec of EFA 2.0. Considering Parsek strategic devotion to German speaking market, this achievement is clearly the best possible proof of Vitaly Health Portal performance. We are looking forward to continue with EFA conformity!
