Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement
The financial year 2023-2024
Introduction
Modern slavery is a serious crime and a violation of fundamental human rights, encompassing various forms, including slavery, servitude, forced and compulsory labor, and human trafficking. Parsek UK Limited is committed to combating modern slavery in all its forms.
Organisation structure and supply chains
Parsek UK Limited is an international company specializing in healthcare collaboration solutions and consultancy services. Our operations involve a network of suppliers, contractors, and business partners across various sectors, including technology and healthcare. We recognize that modern slavery can exist within supply chains, and we are committed to ensuring transparency and accountability throughout our operations.
Policies in relation to slavery and human trafficking
Parsek UK Limited has a zero-tolerance policy for modern slavery and human trafficking in its operations and supply chains. We are committed to maintaining transparency in our business practices and our efforts to combat modern slavery, in line with our obligations under the Modern Slavery Act 2015.
To strengthen this commitment, we will introduce new policies in the next financial year to improve regulation in this area. Specific actions are outlined in Article 7.
Due diligence and risk management
Parsek UK Limited conducts due diligence to identify and address any risks of modern slavery within our partner relationships. Suppliers are expected to implement internal controls to ensure they comply with the Modern Slavery Act 2015 requirements concerning trafficking and slavery. Regular supplier assessments and reviews are part of our ongoing risk management processes to prevent any violations within our supply chains.
Key performance indicators to measure effectiveness of steps being taken
To ensure the effectiveness of our efforts to combat modern slavery, we are in the process of defining key performance indicators (KPIs), which may include: the number of supplier audits conducted for compliance with anti-slavery policies; the number of identified or reported instances of modern slavery in our supply chains and subsequent actions taken.
These KPIs will help us measure the progress and impact of our anti-slavery initiatives.
Training on modern slavery and trafficking
We recognize the importance of educating our employees on the risks of modern slavery and how to identify and report potential issues. All employees receive training on our modern slavery policy as part of their onboarding process, and we provide ongoing training to keep them informed of the latest developments and best practices in preventing modern slavery.
Further steps
Parsek UK Limited is committed to continuous improvement in our efforts to combat modern slavery and human trafficking. We will regularly review and update our policies, procedures, and training programs to ensure they remain effective and relevant.
To enhance our efforts against modern slavery and human trafficking, we intend to implement the following steps:
1. Adoption of a Whistleblowing Policy: We will introduce a whistleblowing policy to ensure that all employees, suppliers, and business partners can report unethical or suspicious practices in confidence. This will encourage early detection and swift action on any concerns related to modern slavery or human trafficking.
2. Adoption of a Diversity, Equality, and Inclusion Policy: The introduction of this policy will ensure that all individuals are treated equitably across our operations, further reducing the risk of exploitation and unethical practices that may contribute to modern slavery.
3. Enhancement of Supplier Evaluation Criteria: We will update our supplier evaluation processes to include stringent criteria related to ethical business practices. This will involve assessing suppliers’ commitments and capabilities to prevent modern slavery within their operations and across their supply chains, ensuring a higher level of compliance and transparency.
4. Development of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs): We will establish measurable KPIs to assess the effectiveness of our efforts to prevent modern slavery. This will help us track progress, identify areas for improvement, and demonstrate accountability.
5. Inclusion of Modern Slavery Act Clauses in Contracts: All standard contracts will include specific clauses requiring compliance with the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and prohibiting forced, compulsory, or trafficked labor. This ensures that all business partners and suppliers are legally bound to uphold the highest standards in preventing modern slavery across their operations and supply chains.
