VECOZO and Open Line Launch collaboration to support national MDT Service in the Netherlands

January 17, 2024

VECOZO, the national service provider for secure digital communication in healthcare, Open Line, and Open Line company Parsek, experts in managed IT services, announce a collaboration to support a national service for Multidisciplinary team meetings (MDTs).

The collaboration aims to improve healthcare outcomes by supporting the cooperation and digital exchange of patient data among MDT meetings participants. VECOZO provides a reliable digital environment through Open Line’s Vitaly platform. This initiative builds on the positive outcomes from the oncology region Oncomid and promises to set a new standard for collaborations in healthcare and network care.

VECOZO and Open Line are taking a significant step forward in healthcare with their ICT platform. The MDT service makes the SONCOS standards for treating cancer patients achievable and increases the efficiency of multidisciplinary consultations. By reducing patient dropouts and rescheduling, they can discuss more new patients while significantly reducing healthcare professionals’ administrative burden. This progress promises a significant improvement in the quality and accessibility of care, starting with MDT support and extending to other regional or national forms of collaboration in care.

Han Tanis, Director of VECOZO, states:

“VECOZO is committed to national standardization at socially responsible rates with the MDT service, just as with all our other services. This national standardization has a great advantage of ensuring that interoperability in network care throughout the Netherlands is immediately arranged. The standardization also positively affects the ICT costs of all healthcare institutions because information for various types of MDTs can be shared via one platform.”

Jo Verstappen, CEO at Open Line, remarks:

“Through the collaboration, healthcare institutions can rapidly establish a nationally covered network of different MDT types, starting with Oncology, Vascular Surgery, and Cardiology. The ambition is to support other (regional) collaborations from there, as the platform is ready for it.”
